SHOTGUN SKILLS CLINIC
A myth concerning the shotgun is that you cannot miss. Nothing could be further from the truth. The shotgun isn’t all-encompassing and, when shooting bird- or buck-shot, the limited number of pellets contained in a charge demand that they be delivered with precision. This 90 minute skills clinic will have you go through a number of instructor led exercises that designed to build confidence, control, and combat ability with the shotgun. l Efficient operation of a semi-automatic or pump-action shotgun. l Proper stance when shooting a shotgun l Unloading and Clearing l Target drills l Transitioning to different loads Required Equipment l Semi-automatic and Pump Action Shotgun with barrels of 18” or longer and overall length over 26”. No Pistol Grip, etc. Legal Short-Barrel Shotguns are allowed as long as they have a stock. l Caliber: 410 Bore, 20 Gauge and 12 Gauge l A minimum of 80 rounds of mixed of buck-, bird-shot or slugs (normally, only slugs are allowed during range time but for this skill clinic we also allow bird- and buck-shot). l Sling are recommended (preferably two-point slings that allow cross body use of the sling). l Shell Carriers are allowed. l Eye & hearing protection (doubling on hearing protection is recommended which consists of using ear plus and over-the-ear hearing protection). l Billed cap highly recommended.
